With guidance from local business leaders, Hennepin County identified an urgent need for highly specialized technical and practical expertise, as well as a single, credible online source for vetted and reliable information and connections to experts and resources.

Today, Elevate Hennepin brings together experts, tools, and programs thoughtfully designed to help new and established businesses gain their footing, plan for next steps, and expand upon their success. This solution was only possible because of the relationships and trust already built with local entrepreneurs and small businesses over the years.

Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers

Open to Business provides free, confidential business counseling to current and prospective entrepreneurs. Their experienced consultants work with you to develop a strong business plan, identify challenges and opportunities, and tailor solutions to your business needs. They also work with entrepreneurs to find financing that best meets your unique needs. Whether it’s from a bank, a community lending program, or through direct Open to Business funding, they’ll help you assess your options and chart the best path.

Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) 

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is the state’s principal economic development agency. DEED programs promote business recruitment, expansion, and retention; international trade; workforce development; and community development. Chamber Member Michael Kollar on receiving the Employer Reasonable Accommodation Fund for his Dunn Bros. Coffee – Minnetonka and Hopkins locations!
