What’s up with the Boardwalk?

Could it be true?  Is the dream about to become a reality?

Panoway on Wayzata Bay’s Phase 2 project is in the works, it has been for years, and the Wayzata Conservancy and City of Wayzata are inching closer and closer to seeking the approvals to build a beautiful new addition to Wayzata’s Lakefront.

A new lakeside boardwalk will stretch approximately 1,500 linear feet from the historic Section Foreman House to the Wayzata Depot creating direct access to the lake for residents and their guests. Large parts of the shoreline will be restored with native vegetation, pollinator habitat, and restored upland buffer. Community docks will be enhanced to allow more residents and visitors to access Wayzata from Lake Minnetonka.

There are still some approvals and fundraising that has to come together. So time will tell, but rumor has it… construction could begin as early as Spring 2022.

The Chamber is crossing fingers, knees and toes that the plan comes together because you know what that means?!  An actual public restroom at the Depot!
