As we ring in the New Year, we’re thrilled to look ahead to the opportunities and possibilities that 2025-26 will bring with our dynamic Board of Directors! This year, we’re excited to welcome two incredible new members, Liz Higgins and Lottie James, to the team.
I love being a chamber member and am excited to contribute to its continued success!
I was honored to be asked. I have been actively involved in the chamber on both committees and volunteering. This allows me to continue to contribute to the Chamber and the Wayzata community.
I am a Private Mortgage Banker for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. I have been involved with real estate since 2000. Before I entered the mortgage industry, I was a realtor and team leader. In addition to real estate, I have worked in technology marketing and held positions in product management and market research. I have a BA in Psychology from St Mary’s College in Notre Dame and an MBA in Marketing from the University of St Thomas.
The relationships I have formed with fellow Chamber members have been invaluable – I have made lifelong friends.
What are you most excited about in your new role as a board member?
I am most excited about doing my part to foster a thriving community of local business owners! Serving on the board also provides a unique platform to shape the future of Wayzata, and I cannot wait to help contribute to those changes.
What inspired you to join the board?
I jumped at the opportunity to join the board because I deeply admire the ways in which the Chamber brings together individuals from all different backgrounds for one cause: connecting local business owners with one another and the community more broadly. As a lifelong resident of Wayzata, I have seen firsthand the strong impact the Chamber has had on the well-being of our community. From the many amazing events to the Chamber’s efforts to connect business owners with the residents of the Greater Wayzata Area, the Chamber has enriched the lived experiences of everyone who lives, works, or plays in Wayzata. As a professional, I appreciate the Chamber’s emphasis on connection and creating a space for local business owners to form relationships with one another.
Can you share a bit about your professional background and expertise?
I am an attorney at Sanford, Pierson, Thone & Strean, PLC, a law firm located in Wayzata, who works primarily in business transactions, succession planning, estate planning, and real estate. I love working with small business owners and learning more about the individualized wants, needs, and goals of their businesses. By getting to know the business owner and the business itself, I am able to best represent them and serve their interests.
What specific skills or expertise do you bring to the board?
As an attorney, I have had the privilege of learning about the everyday and long-term needs of local businesses. By learning about individual businesses and business owners, I have learned how the law and the local economy come together to inform decision-making. I plan on bringing both my legal expertise and my enthusiasm for the community to the board.
