A Note from your Board Chair

We did it! When I say “we,” I’m referring to all of us who have school-age kids, and when I say “did it,” I am referring to getting those kids out the door, on the bus, and back to school. The great Barry Manilow said it best: “Looks like we made it!”

In all seriousness, I love this time of year from a business standpoint. Whether you have kids or not, the beginning of the school year brings with it a more predictable rhythm, more structure, and renewed focus. Summer trips, cabin time, and tournaments give way to consistency, uninterrupted work time, and the ability and desire to create and execute new plans.

From a Wayzata West Metro Chamber of Commerce standpoint, it means renewed energy around connecting, networking, and building new relationships with your fellow Members. Here are some upcoming Chamber events you don’t want to miss in September and early October: 

• Minnetonka Business Council, September 17 from 11:30 am – 1 pm. Connect with the City of Minnetonka and other Minnetonka-based business professionals and learn about the no-cost business support services of Elevate Hennepin and the Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers (MCCD). • Morning MemberNet, Tuesday, October 7, from 7:30 am – 9 am. Join us for some networking at the Wayzata American Legion. Bring business cards and be ready for some great conversation! Register here. 
• The 2025 Chamber Person of the Year, Thursday, October 9, from 11:30 am – 1 pm. Each year, the Chamber honors a distinguished member who has been a long-standing, active participant, leader, and supporter of Chamber initiatives.
