A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Chamber Members,

When people ask, “why should I join the Greater Wayzata Area Chamber? What’s in it for me?” Our answer may vary depending on the business, but ultimately, it’s the connections. What members quickly discover is that the Chamber is a vehicle to build relationships that go beyond networking. These bonds develop over time and eventually lead to new relationships, business opportunities, and long-lasting friendships.

As we continue on into 2024, I want to remind you that one gets out of an organization what one puts into it and there are numerous ways to get involved! Whether it’s attending a Leadership Luncheon, golfing at our 65th Annual Roger Miller Golf Classic, or volunteering at an upcoming community event, there’s plenty to do with the Chamber. Take a look at upcoming events and new opportunities.

Two Leadership Luncheons in March:

  • Thursday, March 7 | 11:30 – 1 pm| Wayzata Country Club
Organization Sales Growth & Entrepreneurial Leadership Development. Members are constantly seeking ways to be more effective in their business development practices, along with leadership training to ensure people are operating with the same vision. Click here to register.
  • Thursday, March 28 | 11:30 – 1 pm | Wayzata Country Club
State of the Cities with Mayors Mouton, Wosje, Wiersum, and Miner. Come join us and meet the mayors as we dig deeper into what makes the west metro a strong and vibrant part of our region! Click here to register.

We are excited to kick off a new program, The Minnetonka Business Council on Wednesday, March 27, 7:30 – 9 am at the 601 Carlson Tower, hosted by Norwestern Mutual. The Chamber and City of Minnetonka is offering this new programming to strengthen ties between Minnetonka business leaders and the City, to foster a thriving and prosperous business community now and in the future. If you are a Minnetonka business professional or business owner, please join us! There is no fee to attend. Click here to learn more and register.

We started 2024 off in a rough position when one of the Chamber’s largest fundraisers, Wayzata Chilly Open, was cancelled. I hope you take time to support, volunteer, and contribute to the rest of the amazing community events – all celebrating milestone years!

The Wayzata Art Experience is celebrating its 20th year on June 22 & 23. This is a 2-day lakeside celebration and we can’t wait to see all the incredible artists that join us on Lake Street. Last year, over 20,000 people enjoyed 150 fine art artists, food trucks, and more. You can learn about great sponsorship opportunities by contacting Brooke Beyer at bbeyer@wayzatachamber.com. Volunteer opportunities are also available! Click here to see how you can get involved.
