Summer Tunes to Keep You Dancing!

Summers’ in full swing, and so is the music! There’s no shortage of ways to soak up the sounds of the season. We’re excited to highlight a few places where you can enjoy live music this month in Plymouth, Minnetonka, St. Louis Park, and Wayzata. Fill your summer with great tunes and good vibes!


NEW Plymouth’s Hilde Amplified

Experience incredible performances and live music at the Hilde in Plymouth!
3500 Plymouth Blvd, Plymouth

Hilde Amplified brings two nights of live music to the Hilde Performance Center July 31–Aug. 1, featuring nationally recognized artists and a summer soundtrack worth turning up.

Hilde Amplified is a brand-new concert series hosted by the City of Plymouth Parks & Recreation and Hello! Plymouth, bringing a fresh experience to the Hilde stage.

Friday night takes the stage with Brett Young, Ashley McBryde, Rodney Atkins and Matt Stell, followed by Third Eye Blind, Plain White T’s, Moon Taxi and lovelytheband on Saturday.

Friday & Saturday as well as discounted 2-day tickets are live!

Minnetonka’s Entertainment in the Park

Experience live music and movies at the Minnetonka outdoor amphitheater
Civic Center Park, 14600 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka


July 7, 6:30-8 p.m. – The Minneapolis Commodores sing a cappella harmony in 4 parts, and they love it! From vocal jazz to theatrical movements, this group will keep you entertained all evening.

July 14, 6:30-8 p.m. – Michell Hall and the Tennesse Trio brings a young Johnny Cash back to life with his spot-on performance. The Tennessee Trio replicates that boom-chick-a-boom sound that was uniquely Johnny Cash. The band is the most complete, accurate duplication of Johnny’s legacy.

July 21, 6:30-8 p.m. – Jazz on the Prairie Big Band is a 20-piece Big Band ensemble, affiliated with the Eden Prairie Community Band. Many of our members play in both bands. We perform about 20 concerts per year throughout the twin cities with genres including the golden era of swing, the big band era of the 50’s, rock, and much more.

July 28, 6:30-8 p.m. – River City Jazz Orchestra is committed to presenting live big band jazz, to both audiences and its performing members by following big band sound traditions. RCJO focuses on playing a large variety of jazz tunes including Bassie, Dorsey, Ellington, Foster, Miller, Nestico, and many, many more! We play everything from hot, up-tempo charts, sensitively treated ballads, show tunes, classic dance tunes, and modern titles.

St. Louis Park’s Summer Concert Series

City of St. Louis Park in partnership with St. Louis Park Rotary bring free live music all summer long!
Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater, 3700 Monterey Dr., St. Louis Park
Kid’s Concerts are Wednesday, 10 – 11 a.m
Open Mic Nights are Thursdays, 7 -8 p.m.


July 1, 7-8:30 p.m. –  Power of 10 features dynamic vocalists, an awe-inspiring 
horn section and a superb rhythm section performing a mix of timeless and current hits. 

July 8, 7-8:30 p.m. – American Bootleg is best described as a high energy tribute to Rock and Roll. Veterans of various Minneapolis bands, the 4-piece group brings 40+ years of collective stage experience.

July 10, 7-8:30 p.m. – Classical Actors Ensemble performs the plays of the English Renaissance as they were originally intended: as popular entertainment for everyone.

July 15, 7-8:30 p.m. – Salsa del Soul is a Twin Cities-based, nine-piece orchestra performing various styles of dance music from the Spanish-speaking regions of the Caribbean.

July 22, 7-8:30 p.m. – The Beatnik Brothers play the very best legendary hit songs from the golden eras of rock and roll.

July 25, 7-8:30 p.m. – Jeff Dayton will serenade you with their incredible storytelling and amazing instrumental talents. 

July 29, 7-8:30 p.m. – St. Louis Park Community Band has been bringing music, joy, and community spirit to the Twin Cities for over 50 years. We are a non-auditioned volunteer concert band made up of approximately 65 musicians from all walks of life who share a love for making music together.

Wayzata’s Music by the Lake

Join the Wayzata Rotary Club for Music by the Lake every Wednesday through July.
The Depot in Wayzata, 402 E. Lake Street, Wayzata

July 8, 6:30-8 p.m. – Free & Easy Band will cover all the hits from Michael Jackson to modern chart toppers like Bruno Mars. Get ready to dance the night away.

July 15, 6:30-8 p.m. – Elvis with Anthony Shore is back to bring the Elvis tunes! Don’t miss this fun performance as he pays homage to the King of Rock.

July 22, 6:30-8 p.m. – Jessie Street Band has a unique sound that is true to the tradition of jazz while remining fresh and approachable. Their versions of well-known vocal songs are refreshing.

July 29, 6:30-8 p.m. – Jeff Dayton and Friends will serenade you with their incredible storytelling and amazing instrumental talents. 

August 5, 6:30-8 p.m. – +45RPM band is a talented group that will keep you entertained with well-known covers to make you dance and original tunes.

August 12, 6:30-8 p.m. – Sugar Buzz is a high-energy crew that will play a wide variety of music. They play hits from the 70s to today.
