A Note from your Board Chair

Matt Schadow
AmeriStar Agency, A Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC
I am honored to introduce myself as the new Board Chair for 2026. It is a privilege to serve in this role for the coming year, following a remarkable 2025 under the outstanding leadership of Adam Thompson. His dedication and vision have set a strong foundation for us to build upon. As we look ahead to 2026, we recognize both challenges and exciting opportunities that lie before us.
One significant transition is the upcoming retirement of Becky Pierson, our long-time President. We are well into the search process for her successor and remain optimistic about finding the right leader to continue advancing our Chamber’s mission and impact.
In the spirit of community and connection, I also want to highlight one of our marquee events—the Wayzata Chilly Open—taking place February 7th. Tickets are available for the PRO, 10 am and 2 pm tee times, plus there are great sponsorship opportunities available. I encourage you to join us for a day of fun, networking, and friendly competition. Here are a couple other events coming up this month:
- Morning MemberNet on Tuesday, January 20 from 7:30 – 9 AM at the Wayzata American Legion. Bring your business cards and come network. Register here.
- Buy your Leadership Luncheon Series Pass and kickoff of the Leadership Luncheon Series on January 22. Join us for a Legislative Session Preview with Senator Ann Johnson Stewart and Representative Andrew Myers. Learn about their priorities as the gear up for a robust session. Register here. Members, buy your pass and for $160 – get five luncheons for the price of four and save $40 now through January 21st.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Together, we will navigate the year ahead with resilience and enthusiasm, strengthening our Chamber and the vibrant community we serve.
Warm regards,
Matt Schadow
