A Note from your Board Chair

Adam Thompson,
FocalPoint Business Coaching

Hello Chamber Friends,

It has been QUITE a year at the Wayzata West Metro Chamber! We have accomplished much this past year, and we are incredibly grateful for the members who made it special.

We welcomed new members, held wonderful events, and continued to build strong relationships with leadership in Wayzata, Plymouth, Minnetonka, and the surrounding West Metro communities. We welcomed the Chilly Open back to Wayzata Bay, and you responded by going all out in your ’80s gear. Members and the community braved the heat and the rain to make the Wayzata Art Experience and JJ Hill Days the robust signature events for which we are known. Throughout the year, our EmpowHER Women’s Network, Leadership Luncheon series, and Morning MemberNet gatherings brought inspiring speakers and new opportunities for meaningful connection. And to top it off, we celebrated a special milestone: Brooke Beyer, our Festival & Marketing Director, marked her 15th anniversary with the Chamber. Thank you, Brooke, for your outstanding dedication and impact!

It was, to say the least, a busy and successful year….and we still have a month left! There are plenty of opportunities to engage and get involved in December. The Minnetonka Business Council meets on December 3rd at 7:30 AM, and this month’s speaker is Minnetonka’s Fire Chief, Kevin Fox. Learn more and register here! The 2026 Leadership Luncheon Series passes are on sale now! Don’t miss out on a fantastic lineup of speakers to start the year off strong. Click here to learn more. There are a handful of wonderful member-hosted events this month, too. Visit the Chamber Event Calendar to learn more.

This year’s 2025 Holiday Party will be a special one, as we will toast our members and Becky Pierson for her wonderful service and leadership as our President for the past 13 years. It has been an absolute joy working with Becky as Board Chair this year, and I appreciate how much easier she made my life in this role, even as I likely made hers more difficult. Thank you for your 13 years of passion, leadership, and vision, Becky. You have left a lasting mark on your Chamber and your community. I hope to see ALL of you at this year’s Holiday Party so we can send Becky off in style. Let us know if you can make it by clicking here.

Lastly, Live from Wayzata…It’s the Wayzata Chilly Open! We can’t wait to welcome golfers to town in their Saturday Night Live costumes on Saturday, February 7. Don’t miss out on the coolest event in town. Click here to purchase Chilly Open Golfer Tickets!

See you around town,

Adam

MEMBER UPDATES

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Chamber Member (Lago Tacos Plymouth) and community friend, Jason Hines. Our hearts are with his family, friends, and co-workers. Read his obituary here.

DECA is a global business competition where students practice essential real-world business skills (like
marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship) through competitive role-plays and presentations. To make these competitions meaningful, we rely on local leaders, like you, to provide feedback to students through judging. They are looking for volunteer judges! You or anyone within your organization can volunteer to judge at the District competition on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, at Wayzata High School. Click here to sign up for Judging.

The onion rings at the Wayzata Bar & Grill were featured in the Minnesota Star Tribune’s 5 best things their food writers ate! “These enormous onion rings are hand-battered and, as the menu proclaims, ‘crispy as all get out.’ (It’s true.)”

Hammer & NER shared they received a $10,000 gift through the Apartments.com “ThanksGifting” program, which recognizes nonprofits making a meaningful impact in their communities. Amazing news!
