Minneapolis police chief ranked No. 22 in Fortune's list of 'World's 50 Greatest Leaders will be speaking in Wayzata on May 25th!
A 30-year veteran and the city’s first female and first gay police chief, Harteau is the mind behind MPD 2.0, a drive to build trust in the community by putting more cops on the beat. Civic leaders credit her for dismissing cops for misconduct.
Chief Harteau joined the MPD in 1987 and worked her way through the ranks beginning as a patrol officer on the street. In 2012, Chief Harteau was nominated by the mayor and unanimously confirmed by the city council to become the 52nd and first female Chief of Police in the city’s history. In February of 2016, she was again unanimously confirmed for a second 3 year term to serve as Police Chief.
Chief Harteau is vocal in issues both locally and nationally that impact law enforcement as an active board member for both the Major Cities Chief’s Association (MCCA) and the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF). With the roll out of MPD 2.0 Chief Harteau <span style="color:#333
