Date: January 25 - January 24, 2024
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: 200 Wayzata Blvd. W. Wayzata, MN 55391
The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite you to meet key board members of the Minneapolis Downtown Council. This is the first installment in our five-part Leadership Series – January through May.
Attendees will hear from C-suite leaders about why ensuring a safe and vibrant downtown is critical for the entire region and state's economic competitiveness. Is downtown Minneapolis able to pivot and meet its new destiny and future? We will explore what efforts are underway to reverse the negative impacts the pandemic had on commuting into downtown, remote work, safety, and other critical considerations.
Speakers include:
Adam Duininck – President & CEO, Minneapolis Downtown Council/Downtown Improvement District
Duininck has had a history in urban planning, transportation and community engagement, including work as chair of the Metropolitan Council and as the director of government affairs for the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters. He was appointed chair last October and replaces Steve Cramer, who led the Minneapolis Downtown Council for a decade. In a statement, council officials said that Duininck brings a commitment to “enhancing the vibrancy and vitality of Minneapolis’s downtown district.”
Anna Coskran – Principal, NTH – Downtown Council Board and Executive Committee Member
Coskran is a real estate professional with over 24 years of experience in the local market. In addition to helping clients fully realize their real estate options, Anna heads up NTH’s business development effort. She has worked on a diverse range of projects from renovating an abandoned brewery to leasing office space in downtown towers. Recent clients include the Star Tribune, the law firm Stinson LLP, and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
John Marshall – SVP Community Relations and Foundation, Xcel Energy – Downtown Council Board Member
In 2022, Xcel Energy and the Xcel Energy Foundation granted millions of dollars to hundreds of nonprofit organizations across our eight-state service footprint. The Foundation oversees all charitable activities and sponsors the volunteer programs of Xcel Energy and its subsidiaries. The majority of Xcel Energy Foundation funding comes from Xcel Energy shareholder dollars.
